California State Legislature has passed a bill which increases the gas tax and vehicle registration fees.
When he campaigned for Governor, Jerry Brown promised no new taxes unless there is a vote by the people. He broke that promise by signing the bill SB1 Gas Tax increase into law.
The Gas Tax hurts those on a fixed income and poor. If the legislature did not divert previous gas tax money to the general fund, there would be money to fix our road and not increase the gas tax again. It is now second highest in the country.
Proposition 6 hopes to stop the gas tax increase.
